Blood orange is such a cool ingredient for tiki drinks—it’s slightly sweet, tart, citrusy, and adds a rich, blood-red color. They’re not in peak season right now, but we were able to get our hands on a few really good ones and made this bloody beauty that’s part Zombie, a touch Navy Grog, and tiki!
INGREDIENTS:
1 dash Peychaud’s bitters
1 dash Angostura bitters (@angosturahouse)
3/4 oz lime juice
1 oz Jon’s Mix (blood orange juice + cinnamon-vanilla syrup)
1 teaspoon grenadine (@liberandco)
1 1/4 oz Jamaican rum (@hausalpenz Smith & Cross)
1 oz Angostura 7 rum
1/2 oz Lemon Hart 151
Garnish: thinly sliced blood orange wheels, mint sprig, Surfside Sips straw
DIRECTIONS:
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake well. Pour and strain into a glass already filled with ice/pre-garnished with blood orange wheels. Top with more ice and add mint sprig
