H.A.G.S | A modern and refreshing Midori Cocktail


Back with another #TikiTuesday that has us looking ahead to summer days—and trips to the beach and traveling to faraway places… 

‘Til then, we’ll sip another one of these! H.A.G.S. is our silly take on The Best Year, a disco-era cocktail from legendary bartender Bobby Batugo that was later remixed by Jeff “Beachbum” Berry. It leans a little sweet but it’s also super refreshing and reminds us of another bright green drink we once had in Caye Caulker, Belize, back when our favorite drink was whatever was the cheapest during Happy Hour (tho we still get down on HH deals). Good times.

H.A.G.S | A modern and refreshing Midori Cocktail

H.A.G.S. is our silly take on The Best Year, a disco-era cocktail from legendary bartender Bobby Batugo that was later remixed by Jeff “Beachbum” Berry.

Ingredients

Scale

2 oz white rum (@plantation.rum 3 Stars)
3/4 oz Midori (@drinkmidori)
1/4 oz aquavit (@linieaquavit_official)
1/4 oz green chartreuse (@chartreuse_uk)
1 tsp Licor 43 (@licor43global)
1/2 oz yuzu cordial
1/2 oz lime juice
1 1/4 oz pineapple juice
Garnish: cherries, pineapple frond, @surfsidesips straw

Instructions

Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into a glass and top with pebble/crushed ice. Add garnish.

Notes

For the yuzu cordial, we followed this recipe from The Educated Barfly and replaced lime juice with fresh Yuzu juice (which we were lucky enough to find at our local Whole Foods).
