aka the ‘Green-Yuh Colada’
We’re celebrating National Piña Colada Day with one of our favorite versions of the classic, a Piña Verde. We came across this recipe while watching The Educated Barfly (he credits the drink to Erick Castro of Polite Provisions in San Diego) and it was great timing cuz we had just bought a bottle of Green Chartreuse. The drink is tropical and fruity and herbaceous and maybe probably perfect.
INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 oz Green Chartreuse
1 1/2 oz pineapple juice
3/4 oz cream of coconut
1/2 oz lime juice
Garnish: pineapple fronds, Surfside Sips straw (Use code ‘subtletiki’ at checkout for a little discount action)
DIRECTIONS:
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with a little crushed ice and whip shake ‘til the ice melts. Open pour into a glass filled with crushed ice and top with more ice if needed. Add garnish.
